OPEN POSITION: Church Vocalist

Affton Christian Church (Christian Disciples of Christ) is seeking a vocalist to lead our congregational singing during worship on Sunday mornings. We are in need of a confident singer (preferably soprano range) with good reading skills and diction. This person will also participate in our choir anthem each Sunday, serve as a soloist if/ when needed, and assist the Choir Director on occasion during rehearsals. Our choir is small in number but enormous is heart and spirit!

 

This is a paid position (the rate to be negotiated) for worship services on Sundays and an occasional special service during the church year (Christmas / Easter). Choir rehearsals are on Sundays before and after the worship service. The required hours are as follows:  9:00-10:00 a.m. pre-service rehearsal; 10:15 a.m. worship service; 11:30-12:30 p.m. post-service rehearsal.

 

We are a theologically progressive, small, open and welcoming congregation in the Affton community. We would love to connect with a vocal student, or singer with some choral experience who would be interested in a Sunday position and in line with/ comfortable with our faith and mission. Any additional musical skills (such as basic piano skills) would be a plus.
